Mrs. Gary Marie Baker Mitchell, 79, born November 30, 1932 in Abingdon , VA passed away on Sunday, December 25, 2011, at Wellmont Hospice House in Bristol , TN.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd Walter Mitchell and Alease Baker; her husband, Robert Mitchell, Sr. and four siblings.
Survivors include her son, Robert Mitchell, Jr. and wife, Zina; her daughters, Katherine Duff and husband, Richard; and Linda Tomlinson; her step-daughter, Crystal Mitchell; her sister, Katherine Baker; eight grandchildren, Kiesha Stanley, Byron Dicks, Amber Delapp, Marcellus Tomlinson, Monique Tomlinson, Robert Worley, Arielle Hawkins and Ryan Mitchell; four great grandchildren, Dont�© Worley, Deandre Worley, Amari Delapp and Bree Duff; nieces, Dawn Baker and Ellen "Dumps" Carter and nephew, Bouyer Baker; a host of cousins including special cousin, Harriett Debose, and a special friend, Lemuel Wheeler.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Friday, December 30, 2011 at John Wesley United Methodist Church in Bristol , VA. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memory Gardens . Pallbearers will be Byron Dicks, Marcellus Tomlinson, Robert Worley, Ryan Mitchell, David Debose, Mike French, Russell Carter, and Sterling Ellison. Honorary Pallbearers will be George Pope, Lemuel Wheeler, Calvin Medley, Louis Gillenwater, Mose Hammer, Scott Fulton, Douglas Fall, John Sheffy and Doug Chittham.
The family will be receiving friends at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Thursday, December 29, 2011.
