George "Denny" Dennis Buckles

Abingdon, VA- George Dennis “Denny” Buckles, age 62, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, November 8, 2014. He was born the youngest child of George Washington Buckles and Eloise Riddle Buckles on April 20, 1952. He was a carpenter by trade who enjoyed building and designing homes for the public and his family. Denny loved spending time with his grandchildren and listening to live music. He was preceded in death by his father and sister, Betty Jo Buckles. Denny leaves behind his mother, Eloise Riddle Buckles of Meadowview, VA; daughter, Maggi Buckles Kiser and husband Timothy; son, George Levi Buckles; all of Abingdon, VA; three grandchildren, Zachary Kiser, Jax Buckles, and Lucas Kiser; his sweetheart, Linda Keefauver; sister, Linda Sutherland and husband Gary of Marion, VA; and nephew, Jason Sutherland and wife Brittnee of Fleetwood, NC. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Friday, November 14, 2014 at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service. A memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, November 15th at Meadowview United Methodist Church with the Reverend David Jackson officiating. A private committal service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests you take a loved one out for a nice meal, raise a glass in remembrance of Denny, and don’t skip dessert.
