George Wilson

George Harold Wilson 5/28/1941 - 9/23/2024 

George was born in Charlotte, NC to parents Thomas Woodrow and Elizabeth Hargett Wilson. He grew up in several other communities, including McCormick, SC and Raeford, NC.

A graduate of Hoke County High School and North Carolina State College, he was a CPA and spent most of his working life in banking in the North Carolina cities of Raleigh, Wilson, and Winston Salem. George's love of bluegrass music led to his talents with many string instruments, but the mandolin was his favorite. George was certified private pilot and he loved his air adventures. He will be remembered for his quick witted humor. 

George is survived by his two daughters, Sarah Beth Childers (Micah), Abingdon, VA and Anna Young (Matt), Boone, NC, his grandchildren Hunter Childers, Miller Childers, Silas Young, and his brother Hugh Wilson (Rhonda), Asheboro, NC.
