Georgia Lake Poole

Mrs. Georgia Lake Poole died peacefully in the arms of Jesus on Thursday, October 1, 2009. She was preceded in death by her parents George and Nannie Mae Ratcliffe and was the last surviving sibling of eight children. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Poole and a great grandson, Skylar Jackson.

Mrs. Poole is survived by her children, Judy Owens and husband Roger, Janice Helton and husband Mike and Ranny Poole and wife Hazel. She is also survived by her precious grandchildren Mandy Dowdle and friend Whistle Mumpower, Mark Owens, Craig Owens, Randy Allen Poole, Crystal Jackson and husband Tim, Ashley Helton, Martha Rosenbalm and husband Jason and Amber Poole. Also, surviving are several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mrs. Poole also had wonderful neighbors, Virgie and Viola Osborne, Bob and Judy Guinn and her talking buddies, Arene Brown and cousin, Mabel Jackson.

Although greatly appreciated, the family request that gifts of food not be taken to Mrs. Poole's home.

A graveside service will be held on Sunday, October 4, 2009 at 4pm at Old Glade Presbyterian Church Cemetery with Rev. Darrell Henley officiating. The family will receive friends at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service on Saturday, October 3, 2009 from 7-9pm. The family will be at the home of Mark Owens, 31271 Hillman Highway, Emory, VA following the graveside service.
