Geraldine Wise Cuddy

Geraldine Wise Cuddy, age 78, of Abingdon, Va., went to be with the Lord on Friday, November 3, 2017, at Johnson City Medical Center. She was born November 25, 1938, to the late Lockhart Everett Herndon and Margie Wise Herndon. Her favorite hobbies were her flowers and bingo.

In addition to her parents, Geraldine was also preceded in death by her husband of 17 years, Clifford Cuddy, Jr.; son, Jerry Lee Wise; two brothers, Jim Herndon and Bobby Herndon; and a sister, Shirley Gorley Wimmer.

She is survived by two sons, Eddie Wise and Ricky Wise both of Abingdon; three daughters, Judy Church and husband, James, and Debra Vestal and husband, Robert, both of Abingdon, and Lapeta Widener and husband, Martin, of Meadowview, Va.; daughter-in-law, Debbie “Fats” Barker of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; three sisters, Betty Britt of Newton, N.C., Faye Lewis and husband, David, of Abingdon, and Diane Weddle and husband, Darrell, of Abingdon; 14 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and special friends, Hazel Deskin, Cathy Keys, and Ann Slate.

A funeral ceremony will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 6, 2017, at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Pastor Paul Stanley officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memory Gardens where Waylon Boardwine, Jason Garland, Junior Garland, Mark Vestal, Robbie Vestal, and Charlie Wise will serve as pallbearers. Aaron Church and Brandon Wise will serve as honorary pallbearers. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m. Monday, November 6, 2017, at the funeral home prior to the service.
