Glen Hayter Taylor, age 82, of Saltville, Va., went to be with his Lord and Savior on August 20, 2021, in the comfort of his own home. He loved life and lived it to the fullest. Glen was kind and patient and loved his family; he never met a stranger. Glen loved to hunt and fish and was one of the most hardworking men around.
Glen is preceded in death by his parents, Hiram Taylor and Suzie Poston Taylor; two sons, Robert Wade Taylor and Danny Taylor; one daughter, Carol Dickerson; and sixteen siblings.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 61 years, Wanda L. Taylor; two sons, Victor Wayne Taylor (Loretta), of Jacksonville, Fla. and Stacey Allen Taylor (Jackie), of Saltville, Va.; one brother, Kyle Preston Taylor, of Abingdon, Va.; twelve grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. August 24, 2021, at the Forest Hills Chapel of Farris Funeral Service, 19415 Lee Hwy., Abingdon, Va. 24210, with Pastor Jason Nunley and Rev. Robert Prater officiating. Michael Taylor, Derrick Taylor, Junior Taylor, Richard Taylor, Chase Cullop, and Doug Marvin will serve as pallbearers. Interment will follow the funeral service at Fall Hill Cemetery in Saltville, Va. A visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. August 24, 2021, at the Forest Hills Chapel.
