Grace Arlene Lewis Rock

Abingdon, VA – Grace Arlene Lewis Rock, age 79, passed away on Friday, February 27, 2015, at Wellmont Hospice House. Together with her husband, Curtis, Grace owned and operated Discount Coal Yard in Bristol, TN. She attended Community Baptist Church in Bristol, VA. She was born to the late Samuel Jonah and Lena Grace Lewis on November 8, 1935. In addition to her parents, Grace was also preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Curtis Edwin Rock; infant son, James Rock; and six siblings. She is survived by her son, Daniel Rock and wife Jo Ann; two daughters, Patty Reed and husband David, Sr. and Ginger Reed and husband Billy all of Abingdon, VA; two brothers, Carl Lewis of Bristol, VA and Glen Lewis; sister, Lucille Burke both of Abingdon, VA; four grandchildren, Brian Reed, Amanda Childress, David Reed, Jr., and Stacey Jensen; and seven great grandchildren. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. Sunday, March 1, 2015 at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service. A funeral ceremony will be held at 7:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with the Reverend Gary Harless officiating. Family and friends will meet at 1:00 p.m. Monday, March 2nd at Pine Hill Community Cemetery where Travis Childress, Wes Lewis, Charlie McCracken, Brian Reed, David Reed, Jr., and Mike Reynolds will serve as pallbearers. Josh Jensen and Raymond Childress will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family would like to extend a special thanks to caregiver, Theresa Childress.
