Haga Statzer

Haga Brittian Statzer Sr. 78, of Morristown, was reunited with his loving wife Mary and his Savior Thursday, April 2, 2015, after a long illness. He was of the Baptist faith. He retired from Mahle, Inc. after 25 years of service. He had a jovial personality and was an avid golfer. He cherished the time he spent with his children and grandchildren. He will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Sue Statzer; parents, Beecher and Vula Mae Fields Statzer; brothers, William, Paul, Walter and Dan Statzer; and a sister, Carrie Ellen Taylor. He is survived by his children, Charlotte (Daniel) Barton, Haga "Buck" (Janet) Statzer, Jr. and Christopher Adam (Rebecca) Statzer of Morristown; grandchildren, Zachary Barton, Britton Barton, Mary Hannah Statzer, Ben Statzer and John Statzer; brothers, Jack Statzer, Robert Statzer; sisters, Betsy Bowen, Patsy Reynolds and Ann Nunley; several nieces and nephews. The family would like to express special thanks to his extended family at Life Care Center of Jefferson City. The kindness and compassion shown to our father will never be forgotten. You were a blessing to him. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. Monday, April 6, 2015, at the Forest Hills Chapel of Farris Funeral Home located at 19415 Lee Highway in Abingdon, Virginia. Graveside services will be 3 p.m. Tuesday, April 7, 2015, in Forest Hills Cemetery.
