In the early hours of February 23, with his bride of 66 years holding his hand, Harold E. Warren passed from this life into eternity with Jesus. Harold was a dedicated World War II combat veteran who earned several service medals including the Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal, and Army Commendation Medal. Harold retired from the U.S. Army in 1986 after over 30 years of military and civil service. After his retirement he spent the remainder of his life as a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
He was adored by his family, friends and neighbors. Harold was preceded in death by his parents, Lonnie B. Warren and Gertrude F. Warren, and one sister Katie W. Campbell. He is survived by his wife Hilda. T. Warren, daughter Dianna Warren Wilson, and son H. Marion Warren and wife Lois. He is also survived by five grandchildren Gabriele M. Cooper and husband Brian, Johnathan E. Sparger and wife Marie, Adriana M. Cornett and husband Drew, Joshua Warren and Caleb Warren. He also has five great grandchildren Jessica, Dakota, Sophia, Samuel, and Philip and one great great grandchild Bryson. He is also survived by his special niece Debbie Simpson and her daughters Naomi and Gwen. Special thanks to Wellmont Hospice staff and home healthcare providers Leigh Ann, Amanda, and Jeannie.
A funeral service for Harold E. Warren will be conducted at 2:00 PM Sunday February 26, 2017 at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service. Interment will follow in the Warren Family Cemetery. Pall bearers will be Caleb Warren, Joshua Warren, Dakota Colvin, Drew Cornett, Johnathon Sparger, and Brian Cooper. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM Saturday February 25, 2017 at the funeral home.
