Harold Lee McKinley

Harold Lee McKinley, age 73, passed away on Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at Valley Health Care Center. Mr. McKinley was born March 29, 1939 in Cambridge, OH. He later moved to Richmond, VA where he retired as a supervisor in the Parks & Recreation Dept. after 28 years. He also served in the U.S. Army and was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas L. and Bertha Mae Abrams McKinley, his wife of 34 years, Carol B. McKinley, and sister, Edna Young.

He is survived by two daughters, Theresa Ann McKinley (Stacy) Fields of Glade Spring, VA and Angela Leigh (Joseph) Williamson of Bristol, VA; adopted children, Crystal Gobble and Joanna Akers; three brothers, William (Mary) McKinley, Clyde (Sharon) McKinley, and Thomas (Kathy) McKinley; grandchildren, Matthew Glenn Robinette and Tyler Marion Fields; adopted grandchildren, Dreama, Lucinda, and Gabby Potter, Bobbijo Banes, and Christopher Alvis; special nephew, Ronald Young; several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, July 27, 2012 at Forest Hills Memory Gardens with Rev. Charles DeBord officiating. Military Rites will be conducted by Highlands Veterans Honor Guard and the Virginia National Guard. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation with the family will be held 1:00-2:30 P.M. Friday at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service. Family and friends wishing to go in procession to the cemetery are asked to meet at the funeral home by 2:30 P.M.

The family will also receive visitors at anytime at the home of Theresa and Stacy Fields, 14037 Indian Run Road, Glade Spring, VA. Those wishing to express sympathy online may do so by visiting www.farrisfuneralservice.com and signing the online guestbook.
