Bristol, VA Harry F. Hearl went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at his home. He was a Korean Era War veteran of the United States Army where he served in the 327th Communications Reconnaissance Company. Harry retired from Necessary Oil Company where he was a truck driver, and he served his community as a former member of the Bristol Virginia Police Department Auxiliary Police. He was a member of Beaverview Baptist Church. Harry was preceded in death by his grandson, PFC Cody Thompson, US Army; parents, George W. Hearl and Rosa Trula Minnick Hearl; three brothers, Ed, Clarence, and Raymond Hearl; and three sisters, Ruby Kestner, Lucy Warren, and Winnie Warren. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Peggy Brittenham Hearl; daughter, Dawn Hearl Sparks and husband Shane and granddaughter, Tiffany Jade Thompson, all of Potomac Falls, VA; two brothers, George W. Hearl, Jr. and wife Doris of Abingdon, VA, and Eugene S. Hearl of Richlands, VA; and brother-in-law, Jim Kestner of Abingdon, VA. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Saturday, July 19, 2014 at the Forest Hills Chapel of Farris Funeral Service, 19415 Lee Highway, Abingdon, VA 24210. A funeral ceremony will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday at the Forest Hills Chapel with Pastor Roy Yelton and Pastor Bobby Burrow officiating. A committal service will follow in Forest Hills Memory Gardens where Military Honors will be presented by the Highlands Veterans Honor Guard and the Virginia National Guard. Pallbearers will be Tyler Hinchey, John Green, Tony Ray, Youvanne Rodriguez, Gary Estes, and Ricky Hearl. Honorary pallbearers will be Paul Salyer and W. Bradley Rogers, MD. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Rogers and hospice nurse, Paula, of Wellmont Hospice.
