Hazel Katherine Barlow Inman, age 85, received her ultimate healing when the Lord called her home on March 4, 2014. Born September 1, 1928, Hazel grew up in Damascus, VA and moved to Abingdon after her marriage to Leslie Inman, whom she met while working at Cumbow China Decorating Company. Hazel worked as a nurses aide at Highlands Retirement Village for many years.
In addition to her Husband, Hazel was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Grace Barlow, Sr.; brothers, Tom (Junior), Hubert (Red), and Joe Barlow; and sisters, Marie Grubb and Eunice Barlow.
Hazel is survived by her son, Don Inman; daughter and son-in-law, Dorothy and Mark Powers; granddaughter, Beth Anne Price; beloved grandson, Stephen Powers; great-grandchildren, Abbey, Caelen, and Jonas Price; sister and brother-in-law, Dot and Tommy Hill; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, March 6, 2014, at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Pastor Todd Freeman and Mark Powers officiating. Visitation with the family will be held 5-7 p.m. just prior to the service.
A committal service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, at Forest Hills Memory Gardens with Stephen Powers, Ken Sauls, Eddie Fannin, Larry McSwain, Jerry Barlow, and Patrick Malloy serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Earl Inman and Tommy Hill. Those wishing to attend the committal are asked to meet at the cemetery by 11:00 a.m.
