Helen Frances Bryan

Helen Frances Bryan, 84, passed away Saturday, April 29, 2023 at Abingdon Health and Rehab Center. She was born March 20, 1939, in Meadowview VA to the late Newton Warren (Bud) Bryan and Myrtle Frances Minnick Bryan. She was a graduate of Meadowview High School, Class of 1956. Helen was a member of Pleasant View Methodist Church and worked at Johnston Memorial Clinic in Abingdon as an X-ray technician and office staff. Helen loved to travel and had been to every state except Hawaii, and to every providence in Canada. She enjoyed Country, Bluegrass and Gospel music.

In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her sisters, Catherine Broyles and Dorothy Addair, and her brother, John Robert (Bob) Bryan.

Survivors include her sisters, Jane Bryan, Sue Williams (Vernie), nieces and nephews, Karen Swiney (Preston), Suzette McCarthy, Timothy Bryan (Debbie), Bryan Williams, Darrell Williams; Great nieces and nephews, Kelsey Gainforth, Amanda McCarthy, Lukas McCarthy, Rachel Bryan, Allison Bryan, Landon Bryan, Savanna Gobble; many special friends, too numerous to mention.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Pleasant View Methodist Church, 18416 Lee Highway, Abingdon, VA 24210 or the charity of your choice.

The family would like to offer their sincere thanks to every one who helped in any way along this journey. Helen had suffered with dementia the last few years.

At the family's request, there will only be a celebration of life held on Sunday, May 21, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Pleasant View Methodist Church with Rev. Barbara Farmer officiating.
