Herbert R. Haga, 80, passed away Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at Wellmont Hospice House in Bristol, TN.
He was born August 14, 1929 in Washington County, VA and was a son of the late Thomas and Margaret Wright Haga. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran having served during the conflict in Korea. He was a member of the Daleville Church of the Brethren.
Surviving are his wife, Louise Frye Haga; his daughter, Kim Moore and husband, Eric of Bristol; his brothers, Tom Haga and Charles Haga, both of Saltville, VA and his grandchildren, Shelby and Evan Moore. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, October 24, 2009 in the Mausoleum at Mt. Rose Cemetery in Glade Spring with Rev. Kenny Gilbert and Rev. Alan Chapman officiating. The family will receive friends at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service in Abingdon from 11:00 A.M. until 12:30 P.M. Saturday. Pallbearers will be Roger Frye, Jerry Frye, Sam Frye, Mason Taylor, Kenny Athey and Darrell McCready. The Highlands Fellowship Veteran's Honor Guard will conduct military honors at the cemetery.
