Abingdon, VA Homer Beverly Dye, age 69, passed on Friday, January 8, 2016, at Wellmont Hospice House in Bristol, TN. He is preceded in death by his parents, Clyde Beverly Dye and Gracie Inez Pippin Dye; his wife, Clarice Louise Grant Dye; brother, John Dye; and sisters, Darlene Gill and Lois Roark.
He is survived by one son, Matthew Dye of Bristol, VA; one daughter, Bobbie Lane and husband Kenneth of Abingdon, VA; two brothers, Jack Dye and Bobby Dye, both of Bristol, VA; three sisters, Joyce Rhoten of Abingdon, VA, Billie Sue Thompson and husband John of Danville, VA, and Patsy Dye of Mt. Juliet, TN; three grandchildren, Gage Overbay, Kaelan Fuller, and Bryce Lane; three special sisters-in-law, Shirley Rhoten of Abingdon, VA, Eula Grant of Abingdon, VA, and Mary Schunke of Marion, NC; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation with the family will be held 6-8 p.m. Sunday, January 10, 2016 at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with Rev. Jerry Eggers and Pastor Robert McCann officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memory Gardens where nephews will serve as pallbearers.
