Howard Dean Harless, 70, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, February 7, 2012.
Howard was a wonderful, loving husband, father, brother and friend. He was a devoted man of God who enjoyed working and singing for the Lord. He was a member of High Point Baptist Church . He graduated from Bulls Gap High School in 1960 and had served with the U.S. Army. Howard enjoyed hunting, fishing and golfing with all of his friends.
He was born November 17, 1941 in Abingdon , VA and was a son of the late Cecil and Gertrude Jones Harless.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Pam Shackelford; and an infant brother, Clyde Martin Harless.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy Eskridge Harless; daughter, LeeAnne Sean and husband, Tommy of Morristown, TN; son, James Emmert and wife, Tanya of Bristol, TN; step mother, Cindy Harless; sisters, Betty Birgen and husband, Ron, Mildred Hackney, and Linda Myers and husband, Howard all of Morristown, TN; brothers, Clyde Harless and wife, Lois of Morristown, and Kenny Nash and wife, Sherry of Knoxville, TN; grandsons, Brandon Harless and wife, Rebecca and Shane Shackelford; granddaughter, Tabitha Akens; great granddaughter, Cadence Harless; great grandson, Eli Crabtree; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, February 11, 2012 in the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Pastor Robbie Coggins officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery .
The family will receive friends at Farris Funeral Service from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. Friday, February 10, 2012.
