Jackie Lee Saddler, age 77, passed away at his home on Saturday, February 4, 2012, surrounded by his loving family.
Jackie was born in Goodwill, WV on January 9, 1935 to the late George Presley and Sarah Elzina Price Sadler. Jackie loved the military and enjoyed living in several beautiful areas during his 20 years in the United States Air Force. He and his wife, Ruth, moved from Wisconsin to Glade Spring in 1973 to be closer to their family. Jackie was an avid bowler and he had worked at Columbus McKinnon in Damascus .
Survivors include his loving and devoted wife of 57 years, Ruth Mary Saddler; two sons, James Lee Saddler and his wife, Linda of Piney Flats, TN, and John Saddler and his wife Dana of Wilmington, OH; four daughters, Patricia Stillwell and her husband, Jerry of Glade Spring, Sue Ellison Davis and her husband, Mitch of Thomasville, NC, Carrie Eskridge and her husband, Eddie of Damascus, VA, and Becky Stallard and her husband, Shawn of Abingdon; three brothers, James Sadler and wife, Pat of Glade Spring, Kenny Sadler and his wife, Carol of Kernersville, NC, and Carl Sadler of Polmeroy, OH; one sister, Delores Evans of Dexter, OH; fourteen grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A crypt side service will be held on Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Mount Rose Cemetery in Glade Spring with Chaplain Anna Butler officiating. Military rites will be conducted by Highlands Veterans Honor Guard and Virginia National Guard Honor Guard. Honorary pallbearers will be Jackie's grandsons.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Kim Horn, RN, Leaisha Mullins, RN and the Glade Spring Rescue Squad.
