Jackson Ray Rouse

Glade Spring, VA – Jackson Ray Rouse, age 90, passed on Wednesday, November 16, 2022, at his home.  Mr. Rouse was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War and Retired from HAPCO after over 30 years of employment.  He was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church. 

Mr. Rouse was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Lura Rouse; wife, Nellie Wilson Rouse; daughter, Gladys Reynolds; son, Jackie Rouse; granddaughter, Ashely Rouse; son-in-law, Charlie Reynolds; and several siblings, nieces, and nephews.

He is survived by two daughters, Debbie (James) Smith, and Lois (Mark) Stophel; grandchildren, Jonathan (Heather), Tiffany (Jason), Tonya (Shawn), Courtney (Cory), Johnna (Dustin), Jackie Ray (Logan), Austin (Laura), great grandchildren, Amber (Eric), Aliyah, Karsen, Kinzlee, Charleigh, Jordan, MaKenzie, Tanner, Hayley (Kevin), Katie, Aiden, Kaden, Ellie, Kenzie (Colton), and Kari; great-great grandchildren, Aven and River; sister-in-law, Eva Joan Rouse;  expected great grandson in February, Bodhi; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation with the family will be held 5-6:30 p.m. Monday, November 21, 2022, in the Main Street location of Farris Funeral Service.  Funeral services will follow at 6:30 p.m. with Pastor Robby Coggins and Pastor Roger Boyer officiating.  Committal services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, in Widener Valley Cemetery with family serving as pallbearers.  Military rites will be conducted by Highlands Veterans Honor Guard and the Virginia Army national Guard.
