James Andrew Morrison

Meadowview, Va.

Mr. James Andrew Morrison, age 51, passed away Thursday, October 18, 2018 at Holston Valley Medical Center.  

Mr. Morrison was born in Winston-Salem, N.C. to James O’Dell Morrison and the late Almeda Virginia Ellis and had spent most of his life in Washington County, Va. Mr. Morrison was manager of Fast Change auto service and was of the Baptist faith. He loved to ride motorcycles and enjoyed drag racing.  

Mr. Morrison is survived by his father, James O’Dell Morrison of Meadowview; two sons, Daniel Morrison and Justin Morrison, and one daughter, Cheyenne  Morrison, all of Abingdon; three brothers, Lee Morrison and wife Jo of Hickory, N.C.; Robert Morrison and wife Georgia of Meadowview, and Ricky Morrison and fiancé, Velma of Nebraska; one sister, Ruth Ann Moyers and husband David of Maryville, Tenn.; several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews; and his girlfriend, Nora Greene.

 The family will receive friends Monday, October 22, 2018 from 6 – 8 p.m. in the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service. A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 23, 2018 in Mountain View Methodist Cemetery with Rev. Carl Young officiating. Everyone is asked to meet at the cemetery by 1:45 p.m.  Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
