James Calvin Norris, Jr.

Abingdon, VA- James Calvin “J.C.” Norris, Jr., age 63, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at Johnston Memorial Hospital. He was a proud veteran of the United States Navy having served a tour of duty in Vietnam and was retired from Kennametal of Chilhowie, VA. J.C. was preceded in death by his parents, James Calvin Norris, Sr. and Catherine Ovella Tuggle Norris Faust; and his sister, Connie Norris McGlocklin. He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Kathy Griffith Norris; son, Jeremy Calvin Norris of Bristol, VA; two daughters, Stephanie Norris of Kingsport, TN and Alicia Norris Hinchey and husband Tyler of Meadowview, VA; step-son, Matthew Ratliff of Johnston City, TN; step-father, Jack Stanley Faust of Bristol, TN; three brothers: Jackie Lee Norris, Sr. and wife Polly of Saltville, VA; George Allen Norris and wife Amy of Saltville, VA; and Roscoe David Norris and wife Tonia of Strasburg, VA; brother-in-law, Ronald McGlocklin of Glade Spring, VA; granddaughter, Savannah Norris; step-grandson, Evan Ratliff; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m.- 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service. A graveside service will be held at 1:45 p.m. Wednesday at the Mountain Home National Cemetery in Johnson City, TN with Bro. Darrell Watson officiating. Military honors will be provided by the United States Navy and Boone Dam V.F.W. Post 4933. Bo Jack Call, Roger Doane, Troy Hinchey, Adam Norris, Aaron Norris, and Russell Robbins will serve as pallbearers.
