Meadowview, VA- James Edmund “Jim” Trogdon, age 60, of Meadowview, VA departed this life on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at the University of Virginia Medical Center after a brief battle with cancer. Jim was born on July 31, 1953 in Meadowview, VA to Edmund Daniel “Eddie” Trogdon, Jr. and the late Mattie Lou Thomas Trogdon. He was a talented man of anything automotive and had a passion for Camaros and working on race cars with his brothers. He will be greatly missed by his friends and loving family. He was employed at Bill Gatton Chevrolet subsequent to his career as a mechanic at Pioneer Chevrolet. In addition to his Mother, Jim was preceded in death by his son, Jamie Trogdon. In addition to his Father, Jim is survived by his daughter, Tammy Trogdon of Stafford, VA; three brothers: Bill Trogdon and companion Brenda Booher of Bristol, TN; Larry Trogdon and fiancée Lynn Lowery of Meadowview, VA; and Mark Trogdon of Meadowview, VA; sister, Linda Casey and husband Rick of Meadowview, VA; five nephews, William Trogdon and wife Adrienne, Shane Trogdon, Scott Trogdon and wife Bridgette, Chris Jessee and wife Felica, and Nick Casey and wife Becky; three nieces, Angela Trogdon, Brianna Trogdon, Venida Blythe and husband David; friend, Helen Leathy Hale of Meadowview, VA; and the mother of his children, Suzan Widener of Abingdon, VA. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 5, 2014 at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service. A funeral ceremony will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 6th at the funeral home with Pastor Eddie Gobble officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Memory Gardens where Bobby Blevins, Eddie Branch, Chad Childress, Shane Denton, Dennis Edmondson, Randy Forrester, Dan Graf, and Jeremy Viers will serve as pallbearers. Walter Duty, Gilmer Harless, Raymond Lang, Mack Powers, & J.R. White will serve as honorary pallbearers. Flowers will be accepted.
