Dateline: Bristol, VA- James Carlton “Jim” Francisco, age 87, passed away on Wednesday, July 8, 2015, at his home surrounded by those who loved him. Jim was born in Castlewood, VA on September 6, 1927, to the late Ronald Earl Francisco and Annis Branson Francisco. Jim was a graduate of William King High School and retired from Kroger. He was a member of Wallace United Methodist Church and also proudly served his country during World War II. He was a loving husband, precious father, compassionate grandfather, great grandfather, and a caring friend. All who knew him loved him dearly. In addition to his parents, Jim was also preceded in death by his brother, Ronnie Francisco; and his sister, Ethel Mink. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Florence Taylor Francisco; four sons: Mike Francisco and wife Candy of Vicksburg, MS; Mark Francisco and wife Tammy of Abingdon, VA; James Francisco of Kingsport, TN; and Bryant Francisco of Atlanta, GA; two daughters, Earlene Sell of Kingsport, TN and Ella Hensley of Austell, GA; 10 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. Friday, July 10, 2015, at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service. A funeral ceremony will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 11th at the funeral home with the Rev. Luther W. Roberts officiating. A committal service will follow at Sinking Spring Cemetery where Military Honors will be rendered by the Highlands Veterans Honor Guard and the VA National Guard. Pallbearers will be Brandon, Andrew, Thomas, and Jimmy Francisco, Kiran Strickland, and Cody Collins. Luke and Adam Francisco will serve as honorary pallbearers.
