James Garland Carbary, 76, passed away on Wednesday, July 14, 2010 in Tazewell, Virginia.
He was born in Washington County, VA and was a son of the late Garland E. and Mary Maggie Moore Carbary. He served in the U.S. Army and had been a Foreman with Moore Brothers. He was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors are his sons, Jeff Carbary of Emory, VA and Robert Carbary of Winchester, VA; daughters, Amelia Gail Garrett of Saltville, VA and Maggie Carbary of Winchester, VA; brother, Charles Kenneth Carbary of Abingdon; sisters, Cora Terry of Meadowview, VA, Hazel Terry of Abingdon, Peggy Warren of Abingdon, Margaret Ward of St. George's, Delaware, Alma Parcell of Martinsville, VA and Shirley Owens of Bristol, VA; and seven grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday, July 17, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the Forest Hills Chapel of Farris Funeral Service, 19415 Lee Highway, Abingdon, VA. with Rev. Robert Carbary officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memory Gardens with full military honors to be conducted by the Highlands Fellowship Veterans Honor Guard.
Pallbearers will be Josh Griffith, Justin Garrett, Andrew Garrett, Skyler Carbary, Matthew Rector, Darius Carbary and Brian Carbary.
The family will receive friends Friday, July 16, 2010 from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. in the Forest Hills Chapel of Farris Funeral Service.
