James Joseph "Joe" Jones, Jr.

Joe Jones, 71 years of age from Bristol, Va., passed away on Sunday, June 26, 2022, at home due to on-going cancer related illnesses. Born in Jackson, Miss., he was the son of the late James Joseph Jones, Sr. and the late Alyce Rea Jones. He was of the Baptist Faith, and he appreciated the many prayers which have been offered for his health issues since 2015.
Joe began his time proudly serving as a United States Marine in Parris Island, South Carolina. His greatest joy was his devoted wife of 30 years, Lisa Anne Jones, who is left to cherish his memory. Anyone who knew Joe and Lisa always saw them together during their off time. They both enjoyed traveling, hiking, cooking, grilling and creating landscaping destinations in their yard. His professional career resolved around a national sales profession as a VP and business partner in top level Business Furnishings and later as a mfg. company Sales VP providing nationally known private label children’s socks, ultimately evolving into starting his own sales rep. company.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 30, 2022, at 3:00 p.m. in Forest Hills Memory Gardens with Rev. Dan Birchfield officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Highlands Veterans Honor Guard and the United States Marine Corps. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 29, 2022, from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 4110, Glen Allen, Va. 23058, or flowers will be accepted.
