James L. Watson, 75, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at Francis Marion Manor. Jim was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church and owner of Jim's Used Cars in Meadowview, VA for 53 years. Mr. Watson also farmed for many years and was preceded in death by his parents, Love and Caloney Maine Watson; the mother of his children, Virginia Ann Jennell Watson; four brothers and two sisters.
He is survived by his wife, Janie Smith Watson of Abingdon, VA; sons, James M. and Jolene Watson of Chilhowie, VA; Kenneth W. and Shari Watson of Morristown, TN; daughter, Freda and Jack Mullins of Bristol, VA; sister, Margaret Rucker of Columbus, GA; step-sons, Tim and Teresa Rolen of Maryland and Wade and Elizabeth Rolen of Abingdon, VA; step-daughters, Pam and Ronnie Craig of Roanoke, VA and Karen Asheh of Connecticut; 10 grandchildren, Tammy Davis, Douglas Harris, Amanda and Cade Watson, Brittney, Kenny, and Nicholas Watson, Kayla, Jacob, and Kelsee Rolen; four great-grandchildren, Sean, Joseph and Heather Davis, and Amber Rolen.
Funeral services will be held at 7:30 P.M. Friday, July 20, 2012 at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Pastor Tim Blevins officiating. Visitation with the family will be held from 5-7:30 P.M. Friday just prior to the service.
Interment will follow at 11:00 A.M. Saturday at Sunset Memorial Park with the sons and grandsons serving as pallbearers. Family and friends wishing to go in procession to the cemetery are asked to meet at the funeral home by 10:00 A.M.
