James Haskel Nave

Bristol, VA – James Haskel Nave, age 87, passed on Saturday, March 15, 2025, in Ballad Hospice House. James was a self-employed painter until his retirement, at age 83. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother.

James was preceded in death by parents, Charles and Florence Helen Dancy Nave; wife, Betty Hicks Nave; two sisters, Peggy Ann Tilley, and Mary Limburg; and son-in-law, James Gammon.

He is survived by three daughters, Patricia Ann Duff, Lisa Gammon, and Melinda Dawn Marshall; brother, Charles Nave, Jr. and wife Marie; eight grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren; six-teen great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
