James William Osborne

James William "Billy" Osborne, age 70, went to meet the Master on Friday, November 16, 2012 at Johnston Memorial Hospital after a long, courageous battle with illness.
"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." -2 Timothy 4:7
Mr. Osborne was the son of the late William O. and Mary Katherine Osborne. Due to death of his mother at birth, Billy was raised by a precious aunt and uncle-the late Callie M. and Lee Garrett. He was a proud veteran of the Vietnam War. He was employed by Morrison Molded Fiberglass for 30 years where he was a supervisor and teacher. At the age of 48 he retired because of disabilities. He is preceded in death by sister, Dorothy Statzer, and father-in-law, Hal J. Bailey.
Survivors include his loving wife of 41 years, Alice B. Osborne; two sisters, Nancy Wilson and Callie Jane Harless; special mother-in-law, Jennie L. Bailey; several cousins, nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 3:00 P.M. Sunday, November 18, 2012 at Montgomery Cemetery with Pastor Tim Stevens officiating. Military Rites will be conducted by the Virginia National Guard. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
