Abingdon, VA – Janett Gay Layne, age 76, passed on Thursday, February 2, 2017, at Johnston Memorial Hospital. She is preceded in death by her parents, Thurston and Hattie Mae Hill Layne, and brother, Jerry Layne.
Janett is survived by two sisters, Mae Bowman and husband Aldon of Fredricksburg, VA and Janis Honaker of Alexandria, VA; two brothers, Cecil Layne of Abingdon, VA and James Layne and wife Edna of Alexandria, VA; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation with the family will be held 6-8 p.m. Saturday, February 4, 2017, at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memory Gardens with John Lee, Kenneth Smith, Joshua Honaker, Jake Howard, Lester Honaker, and Mark Butler serving as pallbearers.
