Janice Kaye Lilly Scott, age 77, of Abingdon, Va., went to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 21, 2021, at the Rehab Center and Memory Care at Bristol. She was born September 19, 1943, to the late Stuart Lilly and Edna Barnette Lilly in Washington County, Va.
Jan was a member of Greendale Chapel where she sang in the quartet. Jan authored a children’s book, Airplanes, Airplanes, Airplanes, that was published in 2009 and she was formerly employed as a receptionist for Dr. Cramer Boswell.
In addition to her parents, Jan was also preceded in death by three brothers, John, Gene, and Kermit Lilly.
She is survived by her loving husband of 27 years, Ivan G. Scott; two daughters, Krissy Roberts and husband, Rick Connely, of Smith Mountain Lake, Va. and Kim Roberts Tushingham and husband, Brett, of Wilmington, N.C.; step-daughter, Tiffany Dawn Scott and husband, Herbert, of Kingsport, Tenn.; sister, Carolyn Leonard; and four grandchildren, Macey, Jack, Reece, and Ryder.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, September 19, 2021, at 3:00 p.m. at Greendale Chapel, 17468 Rich Valley Rd., Abingdon, Va. 24210, with the Rev. Jerry A. Eggers officiating. A committal service will be held on Monday, September 20th at 1:00 p.m. at the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery, 5550 Bagging Plant Rd., Dublin, Va. 24084. Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 19th from 1:30 p.m.-3:00 p.m. at the church.
