Abingdon, VA Mrs. Jean Nelson passed away at her residence on Thursday July 2, 2015. She loved spending time with her three daughters and her grandchildren. Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Nelson; her parents, Arnold Tilford Street and Gertrude Couch Street; three brothers and one sister. Survivors include her daughters, Debbie Nelson of Abingdon, Diana Harden and husband Mark of Atkins, VA, and Kathy Montgomery and husband Randy of Meadowview; sister Janice Barrett of Abingdon; and grandchildren Ashley Tate and husband To m, Cynthia McCloskey and husband Timothy, Dallas Michael Nelson, and Isac Douglas Harden. The funeral service for Mrs. Jean Nelson will be held at noon Monday, July 6, 2015, in the Forest Hills Chapel of Farris Funeral Service, 19415 Lee Highway, Abingdon, with Rev. Floyd Nelson officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be Randy Montgomery, Dallas Nelson, Stephen Barrett, Eddie Barrett, Troy Hinchey and Chip McCall. Honorary pallbearers will be Tom Tate, Danny Asher, Timothy McCloskey, Mark Harden, Eddie Lambert and Mike Montgomery. The family will receive friends on Monday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at the Forest Hills Chapel.
