Bristol, VA – Jeanne Marie Lovins Thomas, age 75, passed on Saturday, February 18, 2017, in Holston Valley Medical Center. Jeanne was a member of Pleasant View United Methodist Church. She was known to be a caretaker of others, maintained lifelong friendships with friends who she considered family, loved to host gatherings for family, friends, and church members, enjoyed gardening, spending time with her grandchildren, and was an avid tennis fan. She will be particularly missed by her “Ya-Ya’s”. She is preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Bertha Haga Lovins; husband Larry Allen Thomas; and sister, Robin Lovins Maines.
Jeanne is survived by two sons, Allen (Gary French) Thomas of New Orleans, LA, and Aaron (Stephanie) Thomas of Fayetteville, AR; daughter, Angela J. (Jeff) Guyton of Ottawa, MI; brother, Garry (Guyetta) Lovins of Bristol, VA; sister, Cherri (Phillip) Ostrander of Meadowview, VA; grandchildren, Seth Alley, Shanna Alley, Antonio Thomas, and twins, Luciana Thomas and Martina Thomas; step granddaughter, Nicole Moser; nieces, Heather (David) Worley, April (Mark) Adams, and Julia (David) Medearis; and nephews, Jerome Weightman and Colby (Stephanie) Lovins.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February, 25, 2017, at Pleasant View United Methodist Church with Rev. Ralph Kidd and Rev. Barbara Farmer officiating. A private entombment will be held in Mt. View Cemetery in Bristol, VA. There will be no visitation.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in Mrs. Thomas’ name to Pleasant View United Methodist Church.
