Bristol, VA – Jeffrey Alan “Jeff” Surber, age 63, passed on Sunday, January 10, 2021, in Johnston Memorial Hospital. Jeff retired from UPS as a truck driver after 32 years of service and was president of the Local #22 Teamsters. He will be remembered as a loving husband and father, a talented woodworker, his “world famous BBQ”, and his ability to make friends with anyone he met.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Berkley and Lucille Blevins Surber.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Patty Wright Surber; sons, Jason Surber and wife Brandy of Bristol, TN, and Wesley Surber of Knoxville, TN; brother, Fred Surber and wife Geneda of Bristol, VA; granddaughter, Jordan Surber; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 13, 2021, in the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Pastor Eric Ramey officiating. There will be no visitation prior to the service. Those wishing to watch the service from home may do so by visiting
