Mr. Jeffrey Charles Hill, age 59, passed away on Tuesday November 29, 2016 at his home after an extended illness. Jeff was a retired coal miner and worked for several years as an electromechanic at Electric Motors. He was a member of the Painter Creek Church of Christ. Jeff was an avid horseman and coon hunter, and was the recipient of many awards and trophies. He was owner of Walnut Ring Stables and Kennel. He was a member of the UMWA, SCRHA, and Old Virginia Wagon and Trail Club.
Mr. Hill was preceded in death by his father Marvin Hill. He is survived by his wife Marta Hill; mother Sylvia Hill; sons Eric (Cindy) Hill, and Jason (Jocelyn) Hill; sisters Peggy (Harry) Keen and Wanda (Gary) Deel, grandchildren Morgan, Aaron, Olivia, Kylee, West Virginia grandkids Scarlett and Ethan, special sister in law Judy Wyatt and niece Kayla (Brandon) Whited, special protector Pepper, and a host of extraordinary horse show friends.
A funeral service for Jeffrey Charles Hill will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Saturday December 3, 2016 at Forest Hills Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Brother Mike McGlothlin officiating. Interment will follow at Mountain View United Methodist Church Cemetery where Randy Hillman, Kenneth Hayes, Glenn Jarnigan, Tommy Smith, Nathan Bales and Anthony Hart will serve as casket bearers. Honorary bearers will be Tony Necessary, Jonathan McGlothlin, Buzzy Frye and Kevin Rose. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM Friday December 2, 2016 at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service.
