Jesse Ray Williams, 68, passed away on Thursday, March 10, 2011.
He was born March 3, 1943 in Alexandria, VA and was a son of the late Clarence Henry Williams and Edna Williams McClanahan. He was retired from Jewell Smokeless Coal Corp. and was a member of the American Legion Post #164. He was a member of Little Prater Church of Christ in Grundy, VA and had attended Abingdon Church of Christ since moving to Abingdon.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Joann Stiltner Williams; daughter, Brenna Renee Williams of Knoxville, TN; son, David Ray Williams of Abingdon; brothers, Richard Williams and wife, Evon of Abingdon and Gene Williams and wife, Beverly of Abingdon. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. Williams will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, March 12, 2011 in the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Bill Haywood, Minister and Preacher Ron Musick officiating. Interment will follow at Greenhills Memory Gardens in Claypool Hill, VA. Pallbearers will be Nephews and David Anderson. Honorary Pallbearers will be employees of Jewell Smokeless Coal Corp.
The family will receive friends at Farris Funeral Service from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Friday.
