Joe Love Anderson, age 76, passed away Sunday, May 19, 2013, at his home. He was a native of Boone, NC, loved going to nursing homes and visiting with patients, enjoyed singing gospel music, and enjoyed playing golf and fishing. Mr. Anderson was a member of the Salvation of the Lord Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, James William Houston Anderson and Bessie Mae Ambrum Anderson, a brother, Fred Anderson and a grandson, Jonathan Shane Anderson.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Pauline Blevins Anderson; two sons, Ricky Love (Kathy) Anderson and Jerry Anderson both of Abingdon, VA; brother, William Ed Anderson of Fort Atkinson, WI; three grandchildren, William, Zachary and Derrick Anderson; and a dear family friend, Sue Lloyd.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 21, 2013, at Grosses Creek Cemetery in Chilhowie, VA with Rev. Carl Young and Rev. Clayton Hay officiating. Pallbearers will be Lowell Blevins, Joel Blevins, Rocky Blevins, Willis Blevins, Paul Sullins, Junior Roark, R.J. Pasco, and Roger Blevins.
Visitation with the family will be held 6-8 p.m. Monday at Farris Funeral Service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to www.pkufoundation.com or to Wellmont Hospice in Mr. Anderson's name.
