Joe Bradley Warren, age 77, of Glade Spring, Va., lovingly known as Big Daddy, passed away on Friday, March 25, 2016, at Johnston Memorial Hospital. He was born to the late Malcolm Whittaker Warren and Gracie Snead Warren on October 13, 1938. Joe was an employee of Olin Matheson for 10 years, worked at Campbell Motors for 19 years, and owned and operated Green Shutters Diesel Shop for 18 years. He loved spending time with family and friends and always had a smile on his face.
Joe is survived by his wife of 60 years, Alberta Sue Yarber Warren; two sons, Joe William Warren and wife Sherri of Glade Spring, Va. and Mark Warren and fiance Trisha Simms of Saltville, Va.; four sisters: Isabelle Mullins of Bristol, Va.; Mary Ellen Frye of Saltville, Va.; Marthlene Webb of Va.; and Polly Duff of W.Va.; four grandsons: James Bradley Warren and wife Tanya of Toronto, Canada; Cody Hunter Warren and wife Samantha of Abingdon, Va.; Logan Simms; and Hunter Simms both of Saltville, Va.; two great grandsons, Dylan Warren and Austin Warren; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A funeral ceremony will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 28, 2016, at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Rev. R.L. Frye and Rev. Carl Young officiating. A committal service will be held at Rosedale Baptist Church Cemetery where Donnie Allison, Timmy Boardwine, B.J. Delp, Malcome Duff, Shane Haga, and Eugene Holley will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
