John Berry Thomas

Abingdon, VA- John Berry Thomas, age 92, passed away on Monday, April 6, 2015 at Commonwealth Assisted Living. He was born to the late Fred Thomas and Alice Berry Thomas on May 26, 1922 in Washington County, VA. John was a veteran of World War II having served in the Army Air Corps as a mechanic. He retired from the Soil Conservation Service where he was employed as a technician. In his spare time he enjoyed photography and trains. John was the last surviving member of his immediate family. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother, Fred Thomas, and sister, Nancy Thomas. He is survived by several cousins.
