Mr. John Preston Davidson, 79 passed away Friday, April 2, 2010 at his home.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Lola Davidson, a sister, Martha Beck Davidson and a brother, Charles Davidson.
He proudly served his country in the U. S. Army.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Davidson, his children, Lola McVey and husband Rick,
Joan Sizemore, John Davidson and wife Jill, sister, Margaret Ann Chitwood, sister-in-law, Florence Davidson, grandchildren, Lee McVey and wife, Mary, Erin Pigg and husband Logan, Lauren McVey, William Sizemore and fiancee' Pamela Riley, Carey Sizemore, Dylan Davidson, Colin Davidson, four great grandchildren, son-in-law, Ron Sizemore, nieces and nephews.
Special thanks to his caregivers, Janice Campbell, Cheryl King, Hazel Pope, Gina Robinson, Norma Wright and the staff of Wellmont Hospice.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 4, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the Forest Hills Chapel of Farris Funeral Service, Abingdon, VA.
The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 5, 2010 in the Forest Hills Chapel of Farris Funeral Service 19415 Lee Highway, Abingdon, VA with Rev. David Sizemore officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wellmont Hospice, 1Medical Park Blvd, Bristol, TN 37620 or to the St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude's Place, Memphis, TN, 38105.
