John E. Reichler passed away on Tuesday, June 13, 2023, after complications from surgery. He was 49 years old. He leaves behind two perfect children, Johnny, and Alexis, as well as their spouses Lara and Jacob, and a grandson, Baby Bear, who will never know how much his grandfather loved him. He also leaves his parents Jerry and Becky Reichler, his second parents, Bill and Clara Ledford, sister-in-law Cindy (Shane) Robertson, and brother-in-law, Bill (Robin) Ledford. The biggest hole will be left with his wife of over 27 years, Stacey.
While John lived all over the country, he called Abingdon home for 24 years before moving to the Outer Banks with Stacey in 2020. John hated the sand but loved Stacey enough to endure it and her endless daily trips to sit on the beach and do nothing. He loved the Denver Broncos, inappropriate jokes, and playing with his dogs, Reagan, Frodo, and Socks. He loved talking to people and would help anyone he could. Most importantly he loved his children more than they knew. His death brings unspeakable grief to his family.
Visitation will be held 5-6 p.m. Friday, June 30, 2023, in the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service in Abingdon, Virginia. A memorial service will follow at 6:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, take the time to love your family, because in the end that is all that matters.
