John Roy Hess

Abingdon, VA John Roy Hess, age 75 and of the Brumley Gap Community, passed on Friday, September 16, 2016, at Ridge Crest Manor in Duffield, VA. He is preceded in death by his parents, Roy Lee Hess and Beula Hunt Hess, and daughter, Polly Ann Testment.

He is survived by his wife, Alma Stables Hess; brother, William Lee Hess; sister, Pauline Nunley; and one granddaughter.

Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 18, 2016, in Glade Baptist Cemetery with Pastor Paul Bufford officiating. Those wishing to attend the service are asked to convene at the cemetery by 2:00 p.m. The family will receive after the service at the home of Terry Stables, 16119 Industrial Park Road, Bristol, VA.
