Joseph Albert Whitehill, 57, of Abingdon passed away peacefully on Monday, July 18, 2011 surrounded by his loving family and friends.
Joe was a member of Shady Grove Methodist Church and the owner of the Dunk & Deli Company. Joe is preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Caroline Whitehill; two sisters, Laura Drouin and Sylvia Bartlett; a brother-in-law, Fred Morando; and a nephew, Tommy Drouin.
Joe is survived by his loving wife of 17 years, Laura Whitehill; a son, Glenn Norwood; and a daughter, Jordan Whitehill, both of Abingdon, VA; one granddaughter, Rylann Norwood; a brother, Edward Whitehill and his wife Janice of Plano, TX; five sisters, Anne Irvin, Janet Morando, Janie Jennings and her husband Stuart, and Mary Simmons all of Ft. Myers, FL, and Judy Ezell and her husband Bill of Monroe, GA; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 23, 2011 at 7:00 P.M. at Shady Grove United Methodist Church, 329 White's Mill Road, Abingdon, VA with the Rev. Don Smith officiating. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the memorial service.
