Joseph "Ken" Kenneth Roop

Joseph Kenneth Roop, age 76, passed away on Sunday, June 19, 2022, at the Waters of Bristol in Blountville, TN.

Ken was born in Alexandria, VA on September 20, 1945, to the late Joseph Willard and Connie Hurley Roop. He is also preceded in death by a special aunt Lelia Mullins, and several brothers. Ken was a Vietnam veteran serving the U.S. Army. He worked 27 years with East TN Natural Gas and then later retiring from Virginia Gas. Ken was a kind-hearted man who truly went above and beyond to help anyone in need. He enjoyed being with his family and was an avid collector of baseball cards. Ken was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy in Glade Spring.

He is survived by his wife of almost 53 years Brenda Roop; three children Barbara Roop Manuel & husband Tim, Joe Roop & wife Tracy, Candice Trivitt & husband Jason; his grandchildren Caitlin & Carlye Manuel, Austin Martin, Joseph Moses, Jedi Roop, and Waylon Trivitt; and two sisters Janet and Debbie.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 1:00PM, Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at Mt. Rose Cemetery Mausoleum with Pastor Danny Medford officiating. Full military honors will be rendered by the VA Army National Guard and the Highlands Veterans Honor Guard. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery.
