Juanita Ellen Hart Collier

Juanita Ellen Hart Collier, age 74, passed on Monday, February 13, 2017, at Johnson City Medical Center. Juanita was born and raised in Smyth County, VA and was a 1960 graduate of Chilhowie High School. Juanita and her husband Jim resided at fifteen different addresses, notably in Silver Springs, MD, before moving to Abingdon in 2006.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Virgil Madison Hart and Nellie Gray Copenhaver, and brothers, Harold, Charles, Frank, and Wesley Hart.

Juanita is survived by her husband of 55 years, Jim Collier; son, Dr. Jim Collier and wife Caitlin of Metairie, LA; brother, Roger Hart of Missouri; sisters, Agnes Maynard of Annapolis, MD, and Shirley Chatham of Atlanta, GA; and grandchildren, Logan and Cole Collier.

Visitation with the family will be held 6-8 p.m. Friday, February 17, 2017, at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Rev. Jon Martin officiating. Entombment will follow in Forest Hills Memory Gardens Colonial Chapel Mausoleum with family and friends serving as pallbearers. A reception will follow the service in the Farris Funeral Service Reception Center at the cemetery.
