Judy Belle Stacy Blankenship, 63, passed away Friday, January 21, 2011, at Johnston Memorial Hospital, Abingdon, VA following a brief illness.
Judy was born in Buchanan County, VA, the daughter of the late Arthur and Rosie Stacy of Wolford, VA. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Acey, Carlos, Ira Stacy and two sisters Geneva Reeves and Nedith Stacy.
Survivors include one daughter, Donna (Michael) Hearl of Abingdon; one son Eddie (Debby) Blankenship of Grundy, VA; one grand-daughter Chasity (Shane) Wright of Abingdon; one special great-grand-daughter, Zoey Wright; two brothers Douglas (Debbie) Stacy of Bristol, VA and Temis (Mabel) Stacy of Pounding Mill, VA; four sisters, Pauline Justus of Hurley, Birchie Crockett of Bristol, TN, Myrtle (Creed) York of Newark, DE, and Linda (Phil) Holden of Bristol, VA; many nieces and nephews.
She is also survived by two special little girls in her life Madyson and Mackinzi Smith, who knew her as Ju Ju.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 23, 2011 at 8:00 pm at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Rev. Roger Hearl officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until the time of the service. A graveside service will be held on Monday, January 24, 2011 at 11:00 am at Knollkreg Memorial Park. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to assemble at Farris Funeral Service by 10:30 am on Monday. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
