Bristol, Va. – Judy Rock Harris, 60, of Bristol, Va., went to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at 7:05 p.m. at Johnson City Medical Center.
Judy is survived by her husband Johnny Harris; her children, Jamie Sandefur and wife Tammy, Amy Shumate and husband Sam, Jacob Sandefur and his fiancee Bethany Derden, and step-son Douglas Harris; her mother JoAnn Rock; her brothers, Marty Rock and wife Christi, Steve Rock and wife Pam, Tony Rock and wife Donna, and Dennis Rock; her sisters, Kathy Houser and husband Monty, and Denise Farris and husband Kelly; grandchildren Lance Sandefur, Trevor Sandefur, Carson Sandefur, Alister Shumate, Lenore Shumate and Graciana Hughes; lots of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; mother-in-law Ella Jean Buck; and brother-in-law David Harris and wife Buna. Some of her special friends are Angela Barber, Fonda Eldreth, Teresa Hawk, Darlene Sisk and Shelly West. She is predeceased by her father, George Rock.
Our sweet Judy was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She was a joy and was always happiest when bringing joy to others. She loved shopping and getting amazing deals, especially to give to her loved ones. She worked at Universal Fibers for over 22 years and loved her job and co-workers.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at the Forest Hills Chapel of Farris Funeral Service, 19415 Lee Highway, Abingdon with the funeral service to follow. Pastor Scott Price will be officiating. Committal services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 19, 2017, in Pine Hill Cemetery, Bristol, Va. Those wishing to attend the committal service are asked to assemble at the Forest Hills Chapel on Thursday by 1:30 p.m. for the procession. Pallbearers will be Jamie Sandefur, Jacob Sandefur, Sam Shumate, Marty Rock, Steve Rock, Tony Rock, Dennis Rock and Monty Houser.
