On Monday, April 18, 2016, June Bess Anderson departed her earthly garden at Bristol, Va. She was predeceased by her parents, Gilbert and Verona Bess; brother, Gilbert; and sister, Barbara. She leaves her devoted husband, Paull; son, Kim; daughters, Carla, Melissa, and Sandy; and their families.
June was a retired, highly respected and distinguished English teacher who was appointed a Palmetto Lady by Governor John C. West and received the coveted Andrew Wyeth Gold Medal from CAGUS for her contributions to the Fine Arts. She was a generous philanthropist and active naturalist.
June leaves an eternal legacy of abiding love and appreciation for her wonderful family, dear friends and all of Gods creatures great and small. The funeral and interment services will be private and a celebration of Junes life will be scheduled for a later date.
June and her family remain especially grateful to her dear friends and the wonderful, kind, devoted and caring nurses at CARIS that helped her during her illness Gina, Tomie Jo, Leticia, Gloria, etc.
