June Kansas Kestner Casey

Meadowview, VA – June Kansas Casey, age 85, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 18, 2015, at Johnston Memorial Hospital. She joined her husband, Jay Casey; sisters, Beulah Calloway, Clara Taylor, and Ocie Poston; brothers, Preston Kestner, Silas Kestner, and Earnest Kestner; nephew, Mike Taylor; and great niece, Avery Coley in Heaven. June was the last descendant of the late Dexter and Ruth Reynolds Kestner. June lived in Washington County her entire life where she farmed, raised cattle, and owned and operated Valley Rest Home until her health no longer allowed her too. She loved working in her garden as well as going to church and gospel singings with her niece, Barbara Tran, and late nephew, Mike Taylor. She is survived by her sisters-in-law, Gladys Kestner and Sadie Kestner; several nieces and nephews; her church family at Chestnut Grove Community Church; and a host of special friends. Visitation with the family will be held 1-3 p.m., Sunday, June 21, 2015, at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 p.m. with Minister Cody Jackson officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memory Gardens with Scott Rector, Isaac Rector, Michael Taylor, Chris Taylor, Eric Coley, and George Schrader serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the men of Chestnut Grove Community Church.
