Junior W. Addison, age 79, of Bristol, Va., passed away on Saturday, October 24, 2015, at Bristol Regional Medical Center. He was the firstborn son of Harless W. Addison and Cora Hawkins Addison born on November 23, 1935, in Russell County, Va. J.W. was a talented, lifelong cultural heritage musician. He was a proud veteran of the Korean War having served in the United States Air Force. He was employed by Clinch River Power Plant in Carbo, Va. before taking a position with the Sears Catalogue Southern Region rising to an executive management position. In 1978, J.W. relocated to Abingdon to manage the catalogue store. Following retirement he enjoyed sharing his love of music with friends and family. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Perry Rogers Addison; five children: Ronald W. Addison and wife Debbie of Abingdon, Va.; daughter, Charlotte Austin and husband Greg of Bristol, Va.; son, Alan W. Addison and wife Lori of Lebanon, Va.; daughter, Renee Mort and husband John of Bristol, Va.; and son, Martin J. Addison and wife Holly of Bristol, Va.; 13 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren; brother and patriarch of the family, L.K. Addison and wife Geraldine of Abingdon, Va., their family; numerous nieces and nephews; and great nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. Monday, October 26, 2015, at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service. A funeral ceremony will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 27th at the funeral home with grandson, Travis Cross, and Dr. Austin Cook officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Memory Gardens where Colby, Lane, Lukas, and Sam Addison, Dennis Cumbow, Jonathan and Joshua Mort, and Justin Nichols will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be David Adkins, Greg Austin, Bennett Hamby, Harold Hannah, Jim Keyser, and John Mort. Military Honors will be presented by the Highlands Veterans Honor Guard and the United States Air Force.
