Justine Johnston Crigger

Justine Johnston Crigger, age 93, passed away Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at Johnston Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. She was born March 9, 1920 in Filbert, WV to the late Della McThenia Johnston and Henry Benjamin Johnston. She lived most of her life in Washington County, VA and was a charter member of Pleasant View United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Henry G. Crigger, USMC.

She is survived by her husband of 74 years, J. C. Crigger; a sister, Roberta Brown; daughters: Janie Warner and husband Guy, and Nancy Dutton and husband Ed. Additionally, she is survived by four grandchildren: Catherine Miller (Tony), Elizabeth Topalu (Ted), Courtney Dutton and Caitlynn Dutton; and three great-grandchildren: Amanda Cook (Jake), Brandon Eskridge and Coleman Topalu.

The funeral service for Mrs. Justine Johnston Crigger will be Friday, September 6, 2013 at 7:00 pm at Pleasant View United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. Ralph Kidd and the Rev. Barbara Farmer officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 pm at the church. Graveside committal services will be at 11:00 am Saturday, September 7, 2013 at Knollkreg Memorial Park. Family and friends will gather at the cemetery by 10:45 am. Pallbearers will be John Crigger, Sr., Bruce Bentley, Buddy Snodgrass, Bob Jones and Bob Boatwright.
