Katalou Johnson Hearl

Abingdon, VA – Katalou Johnson Hearl, age 84, passed on Wednesday, May 28, 2014, at Grace Healthcare. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Hearl; parents, John B. Johnson and Millie Mae Carroll Johnson; brother, Garfield Johnson; two sisters, Betty Barrett and Nannie Johnson; and grandson, Travis Hearl. She is survived by her brother, Larry Johnson of NC; five sons, Alan, Terry, and Rick Hearl of VA and Jeff and Dave Hearl of FL; daughter, Donna Brooks of TN; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren. A public reception will be held at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, May 31, 2014 at the Forest Hills Chapel of Farris Funeral Service, 19415 Lee Highway, Abingdon, VA 24210. A private committal service will be held by the family. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the nurses and staff of Grace Healthcare.
